Liposuction Austin

(Liposculpture)

The appeal of liposuction is understandable. It is a means of removing fatty tissue from a specific area of the body to achieve desirable results that may not be possible with diet and exercise alone. It’s a way of sculpting certain areas of the body that don’t seem to respond to traditional fat-reduction methods. People in Austin have a reliable partner in Dr. Hall. He understands the rewards and limitations of liposuction and makes every patient feel comfortable about their decision.

Is Liposuction Right for You?

As with any surgical procedure, liposuction should not be entered into lightly and should only be considered after consulting with a qualified plastic surgeon. But for those seeking to enhance their body image and esteem with a toned, sculptured look, liposuction can be a very beneficial experience. Ideal candidates are healthy, non-smokers in the near-range of their optimum body-weight with good skin elasticity and muscle tone, and a realistic vision of what they hope to achieve.

Lipsosuction is:

  • A permanent solution for providing improved contouring and a tighter, more toned appearance.
  • Often used in tandem with other cosmetic procedures like a face lift or tummy tuck.
  • Not an obesity treatment or a replacement for proper diet and exercise.

Two Liposuction Techniques Offered at Hall

Hall Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenation Center offers some of the industry's most advanced liposuction solutions, giving our patients a wider range of options. In addition to standard liposuction, we are equipped for the VASER® Lipo System.

Standard Liposuction

Standard liposuction uses suction to remove excess fatty tissue from a targeted region of the body. The most common areas where liposuction can offer significant improvement are: chin, neck region, back, arms, breast region, abdominal region, buttocks and hips, thighs, knees, and the calf/ankle region. Many patients choose to remove excess fat from love handles, a double chin, flabby upper arms, enlarged breasts or a sagging abdomen.

The procedure can take place in an office surgical facility or in a hospital, and is usually performed under local or general anesthesia. The process begins with a consultation and evaluation session with Dr. Hall. This interaction is an important step in determining your goals and the proper course of treatment.

Risks

Before undergoing any surgical procedure, you should be aware of possible risks and side effects. During your consultation, Dr. Hall will explain the procedure, provide a realistic assessment of the possible outcome, answer your questions and provide information on any possible risks and side effects, including uneven contours, skin rippling or loosening, nerve damage, irregular pigmentation, infection, clotting, fluid loss or accumulation and reactions to anesthesia or medications.

Recovery Time

In the first few days, it’s normal to experience swelling, pain, bruising or burning. You may return to normal activity as soon as you feel ready. Initial healing time is five to 10 days, depending on the amount of liposuction performed. Strenuous activity is possible after two weeks of healing. Changes may not be evident immediately and contours will improve as swelling subsides. The results are permanent though weight gain or pregnancy can alter the effects. Complete healing will continue for a few months as swelling subsides and the effects of the procedure become more defined.

Follow-up

Patients may need to wear a compression garment or an elastic bandage to compress the skin, control swelling and direct the new contour of the body. Patients will be given directions about care and medication before leaving the facility, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled.

VASER® Lipo System

The VASER® Lipo System uses an advanced, patented fat removal technology designed to emulsify fat cells while conserving other tissues. The VASER® Lipo System provides fast patient recovery, and allows the physician greater versatility for performing a wide range of body contouring procedures. Demanded by physicians and patients alike, the results are smooth and consistent with very little down time. The VASER® Lipo System is just one of several liposuction procedures available through Hall Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenation Center. During consultation, Dr. Hall assists each patient in determining which technique most appropriately fits the patient’s goals.

The VASER® – Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance – Lipo System combines ultrasound with suction to increase precision fluid management, controlled tissue-selective emulsification, and allows greater ease for sculpting delicate and fibrous areas. Ultrasonic energy has been used for years in a wide array of medical applications. The ultrasonic technology that the VASER® Lipo System uses is tissue-selective, targeting unwanted fat but preserving other surrounding tissues such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue to promote smooth contours and rapid healing. During the procedure, the fatty layer is infused with tumescent fluid. The high frequency vibration of the VASER® Lipo System then causes the fat cells to break apart and emulsify. The emulsified fat is then easily removed through suction. This simplified process minimizes pain and bruising, enhancing skin retraction and producing a smooth, predictable result.

Why Choose The VASER® Lipo System?

For patients looking to enhance their body image with a toned, sculpted look, The VASER® Lipo System can be ideal for those seeking a less invasive procedure that involves very little down time with very effective results.

Risks and Recovery Time For The VASER® Lipo System

Risks, recovery time, and follow-up are the same for the VASER® Lipo System as with any liposuction treatment and are described in detail by Dr. Hall during your personalized consultation.
