Massage Austin

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage, the most common type of massage, uses firm, gentle pressure applied through five different movements to release tension, relax, relieve muscle aches, and improve circulation.

Benefits of Swedish Massage

While Swedish massage is known for relaxing people and helping in the repair of overworked muscles, it can also benefit the circulatory system. When the circulatory system is enhanced your muscles, tissues, and other parts of your body get more oxygen delivered to them each day.

The nervous system also benefits from Swedish massage, which is why you feel so relaxed and pampered after a session. Regular massage is usually recommended as part of a overall stress management program.

Your lymphatic system also benefits from Swedish massage. When your lymphatic system works properly your body can release and dispose of toxins and metabolic wastes that have accumulated in your body. Therefore strengthening your immune system and helping with a faster recovery time after an intense workout.

Massage As a Treatment for Fibromyalgia

Massage therapy is a beneficial treatment for any adult suffering with fibromyalgia. Massage helps to improve chronic sleep problems associated with fibromyalgia but also decreases pain, fatigue, and anxiety. It has also been shown that patients with fibromyalgia had less pain following a month of biweekly massages.
